Crown Lengthening
If you’re unhappy with your smile, crown lengthening may be an option for you. A pearly white smile or damaged gums can be restored by repositioning gums!
Benefits
- Enhanced oral health
- Fewer visits
- Solution for “gummy smiles”
- A visually symmetrical smile
The Process
Your mouth and teeth will be evaluated to determine your candidacy for crown lengthening. An x-ray of your mouth will be performed along with your medical history to determine the best course of action for you. Our dentist will provide you with a temporary crown before your procedure occurs.
On the day of your procedure, local anesthesia is applied to the treated area. The specialist will begin by trimming away excess gum tissue. After your teeth are more visible, dental crowns will be placed in the corresponding areas if needed. Your mouth will be stitched together and rinsed with a saltwater solution to eliminate bacteria. We recommend taking any prescribed antibiotics and medications in the days following your procedure.
