Night Guards

More than 8% of people clench or grind their teeth while they sleep, and most don’t even realize they do it. This unconscious nighttime teeth grinding is a condition commonly known as bruxism. Luckily, if you are suffering from bruxism you can protect your smile with a night guard.

Types of Mouth Guards

If you are looking to relive teeth grinding, there are three types of mouth guards to help you sleep better at night:
-These guards are instantly ready to wear
-Adds little to no protection and support
Boil and Bite
-Conforms to teeth once dipped into hot water and applied with slight pressure
-Thermoplastic material
Custom Guard
-An impression of teeth is taken
-Night guard is created to naturally fit your teeth

The Process
To create customized night guards, your dental specialist will take an impression of your teeth. The impression is transferred to a plaster mold and is sent directly to a lab for fabrication.

Your night guard is composed of laminate or hard acrylic material that will fit comfortably to your mouth. After the guard is complete, we will bring you in a fitting. Once adjustments have been made, you can use the night guard right before you go to sleep!
